General Assembly is a major player in coding education. They have four full time in person courses that include Software Engineering, Data Science, UX Design, and Digital Marketing. While syllabuses very greatly per program, you can expect training in technical foundations and prominent industry programming languages. Additionally General Assembly places a huge focus on career preparation with specific days of the week being allocated to career research and portfolio building. For part time, the curriculum varies greatly based on your desired course. Part time courses include product management, visual design, data analytics and more. General Assembly also offers a variety of on demand learning paths. These programs offer a flexible alternative to a traditional bootcamp by letting students learn at their own pace. All of the full time immersions run for 10-12 weeks while the part time courses run 8-10 weeks. Full time online courses are in session Monday-Friday from 10:00am-6:00pm while the in person full time sessions run Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. All times vary by location. Times vary greatly for the part time programs per course but usually take place for 2-3 hours during the weekday evenings.

Because General Assembly has so many programs, it’s important to note that their prices vary greatly. General Assembly offers a variety of full time courses both online and in person. These courses range from about $14,000 to $16,000. However, if you’re able to pay the full cost of the bootcamp upfront, you’ll receive a $500 discount. There are also several part time courses offered throughout select locations. Most of the part time courses cost $4,000 with a $300 credit applied if you are able to cover the entire cost of the program upfront. As far as payment is concerned, General Assembly offers a few different options. First, is the ISA or Income Share Agreement. General Assembly offers an ISA that covers the full cost of tuition in exchange for 10% of the student’s future salary to be paid out over 24 months. The income threshold for repayment starts at $40,000. General Assembly also partners with lenders Climb and Meritize to offer financing for as low as $450 a month. General Assembly also has their own in house installments plan which allows tuition to be paid in three separate payments. General Assembly is also a partner of the GI Bill and offers many scholarship opportunities for women and underrepresented communities in tech.
